It talks about how the women are ‘as beautiful as the lakes’ (阿里山的姑娘美如水呀) and how the men are ‘as strong as the mountains’ (阿里山的少年壯如山); and muses on the blue of the water (澗水長藍) and the thick forests covering the mountain (高山長青).
